Tottenham Hotspur could be dealt a massive injury blow with the news that Jan Vertonghen could be out of action for up to four months.
The Belgian international has picked up a ‘serious’ ankle injury during training ahead of the Euro 2014 match against Wales according to reports in the Belgian media and will undergo further evaluation on the injury.
Jan Vertonghen has a 'serious' ankle injury. Flew with squad to Lille, but will undergo more exams. Possible ligament damage. #thfc #bel

Vertonghen missed a fair chunk of last season after suffering a knee injury at Crystal Palace and was replaced by Kevin Wimmer who in fairness did a decent job of deputising.
Fingers crossed that the scans will show no ligament damage for big Jan, otherwise we’re already going into the season without one of our key players.
