Tottenham talisman Harry Kane has set his sights on 50 goals in all competitions next season, after enjoying a stupendous 2016-17 campaign.
Scoring 29 goals in 30 Premier League appearances and 35 in all competitions, despite missing 3 months worth of football to ankle injuries, Kane still won himself his second successive Golden Boot award last season, but the England forward doesn’t want to stop there.
After scoring 7 goals in Tottenham’s last two games in the 2016-17 Premier League campaign, Kane also found the net during Spurs’ post-season friendly against Kitchee SC in Hong Kong, as well as 3 goals in 2 games on international duty with England, continuing his remarkable form.
Speaking to reporters, Kane revealed he wants to go a step further and score 50 goals in his next campaign. He said:
“It’s a target I would love to get to. Hopefully I can stay fit for the whole season next season.”
“That’s always the aim and 50 goals is something I would love to achieve.”
“It was a very good year this year. There is plenty still to work on and improve, but I’m looking forward to having a break and then going again.”
Kane will now enjoy a well-earned rest before returning to training with Tottenham on the 3rd of July. However, the Spurs striker is already eager to get going on the pitch again.
“It’s just a shame this season is ending. I still feel fresh,” He added. “Having the injuries I had, I was out for three months, so I still feel physically in good shape.”
“It’s a shame the season has ended but there is stuff to work on for next year.”
“I’ve got a nice break now. I’ll enjoy it and refresh the mind more than anything and come back next season and hopefully do even better.”
