Ange Postecoglou makes a huge reveal about James Maddison return tomorrow night

Ange Postecoglou has revealed that James Maddison is not only back in training for Tottenham, but he is also available to start against Manchester City tomorrow night (Jack Pitt-Brooke).

Spurs welcome Pep Guardiola’s side to North London for a fourth-round FA Cup clash, with City still having failed to score a single goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since it opened in 2019.

While Tottenham suffered somewhat of an injury and suspension crisis towards the end of 2023, they are finally getting their first-team stars back to full fitness. Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven both returned this month, while James Maddison is now about to join them on the pitch once more.

James Maddison is available to start for Spurs vs Man City

Maddison picked up an ankle injury against Chelsea towards the end of last year and has not been seen on the pitch since, but Postecoglou will be glad to have his creator-in-chief back in time for the FA Cup.

The Spurs boss told the press today that Maddison is indeed ‘available to start’ against the Citizens, should he decide to use Tottenham’s number 10.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Considering both Romero and Van de Ven were thrown back into the starting XI fairly sharpish, I would not be surprised to see Postecoglou do the same with Maddison. However, Spurs have enough fit players in midfield not to force the issue if there is any risk.
