Report: How much Everton intend to charge Spurs and Newcastle for James Garner

Football Insider report that Everton will look to charge the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle between £20m and £25m for the services of James Garner in the summer.

The Toffees signed Garner from Manchester United for £15m in 2022 and are apparently looking to turn a profit on him if they do have to part ways in the next transfer window.

Sean Dyche will reportedly face a ‘real battle’ to keep Garner at the club beyond the summer, given Everton’s financial position – especially if they drop down into the Championship.

Tottenham and Newcastle both like James Garner

Garner has enjoyed a breakthrough season on Merseyside this year, starting 22 out of 30 games for Everton throughout the season.

TeamTalk reported this week that Tottenham are looking at Garner as a possible Conor Gallagher alternative, while Football Insider were also among the first to break the news of Spurs and Newcastle’s interest in the young midfielder.

Spurs Web Opinion:

£20m would certainly be a good price for James Garner but I do wonder whether he would be much of an upgrade on Tottenham’s current options. Remember, we have Lucas Bergvall coming in too. I suspect the club would rather spend big on someone like Conor Gallagher this summer.
