Geertruida is expected to leave Feyenoord this summer, with his current contract expiring in June 2025, meaning the Dutch club are under pressure to get a profit for him over the next two months.

Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool are all linked with potential moves for the 23-year-old, with Feyenoord hoping for somewhat of a summer bidding war.

Not only is Lutsharel Geertruida a very talented player, but he also has experience playing at right-back, left-back, centre-back and even defensive midfield, making him the very definition of a versatile star.

Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool all like Lutsharel Geertruida

It was reported earlier this week by Algemeen Dagblad that Spurs, Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham were all interested in Geertruida, but it appears Arsenal can be added to that list too now.

CaughOffside also added that Liverpool have an advantage in the race, seeing as they just signed Geertruida’s former Feyenoord manager, Arne Slot.

Tottenham side reportedly see the Feyenoord star as a replacement for Emerson Royal, who is likely to be on the way out of North London this summer.

Royal has been heavily linked with a move to Italy in recent weeks with Serie A giants AC Milan keen to take him off Tottenham’s hands this summer

Spurs Web Opinion:

Spurs need cover for Pedro Porro, that’s for sure. But that cover needs to be a unique blend, much like Porro himself. A defensive right-back is no good in Postecoglou’s system.

Tottenham need a talented attacker who is great on the ball and can operate in those tight number-ten pockets, while Geertruida’s versatility may also be an added bonus.

With Emerson Royal set to head out of the door this summer and Destiny Udogie’s injury at the end of last season highlighting how vulnerable the squad depth in terms of quality is, there needs to be investment in multiple positions this summer.

When the likes of Oliver Skipp are asked to play vastly out of position due to a couple of injuries to Udogie and Davies, it has hopefully highlighted to the recruitment team where the funds need to be spent.
