Report: Spurs could deal a blow to Arsenal and Chelsea by joining transfer race

The Mirror report that Spurs could deal a blow to Chelsea and Arsenal by joining the summer transfer race for Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.

It is said that Williams has a release clause of £43m and the the Blues and the Gunners are joined in pursuit of the forward by fellow Premier League club, Aston Villa.

While Chelsea and Arsenal are scouting the 21-year-old, Unai Emery reportedly went one step further and flew to Spain to hold face-to-face talks with Williams.

Tottenham are looking at Nico Williams

However, Tottenham are said to have ‘more freedom’ in the market this summer thanks to their current finances, and could look to steal a march on their Premier League rivals in the race for Nico Williams.

Tottenham already have the likes of Heung-min Son, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, Manor Solomon, Bryan Gil and Timo Werner (loan) in their attacking line-up, but Ange Postecoglou has seemingly got his eye on reinforcements this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I get the feeling that Postecoglou wants one more talented attacker who can play multiple positions across that front line. I also expect Timo Werner to remain at the club in the summer because the price is surely just too good to turn down.
