Report: Spurs move for Conor Gallagher will depend on one key variable

The Telegraph have said that Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Conor Gallagher will depend on whether Chelsea reduce their current asking price for the midfielder.

Gallagher currently has one year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and does not appear close to agreeing on a new deal.

According to The Telegraph, despite the midfielder’s contract situation, Chelsea value him at £50m ahead of the summer.

It is explained that Spurs’ pursuit of the England international will depend on whether the Blues are forced to drop their asking price.

Chelsea want £50m for Conor Gallagher this summer

The report claims Ange Postecoglou’s men have also identified other midfield targets, including Everton’s Andre Onana, who has been backed to leave Goodison Park this summer.

The publication also backs up what we have heard from other sources over recent weeks by stating that Tottenham want additions upfront and at centre-back, with Santiago Gimenez and Lloyd Kelly named as options.

In addition, it is also revealed that Spurs are looking for additions in the wide areas, with Barcelona’s Raphina and Juventus’ Samuel Iling-Junior on their radar.

Spurs Web Opinion

It sounds like Spurs want to sign a forward, a number six, a number eight and a versatile defender, who can operate at full-back and at centre-back.

The big question seems to be whether Tottenham will go for a number nine or a wide-forward, or potentially even both. I suspect they would want to sign a player in Richarlison’s and Son’s mould, who can operate upfront as well as on the flanks.
