Report: Spurs will only sell player for £40m this summer amid Serie A interest

The Sun report that Tottenham will ask for as much as £40m to sell Radu Dragusin this summer as they do not wish to part with the Romanian defender.

Spurs only signed the centre-back from Genoa for £21.5m in the January transfer window as Ange Postecoglou looked to strengthen his pool of central defenders.

Tottenham currently have Cristian Romero, Micky Van de Ven, Dragusin, and Ben Davies as first-team regulars in the centre of defence, but will likely look to add to that list this summer.

Spurs would want £40m for Radu Dragusin

The Sun report that Napoli were interested in Dragusin in the winter market but were beaten to the signing by Spurs. However, the Serie A club retain an interest in the former Genoa star.

Spurs are said to want to keep the 22-year-old at the club for next season, but Dragusin himself is a little worried about his future and the lack of first-team minutes for him in North London.

Due to the imperious partnership of Romero and Van de Ven, Dragusin has only played 244 minutes in the second half of the season as he heads into the European Championships with Romania.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Selling Dragusin after just six months would be incredibly stupid from Tottenham and it simply will not happen. There is also no way Napoli let Spurs have him for £21.5m but would now suddenly be willing to pay £40m mere months later.
