Soldado to undergo Spurs medical on Thursday

0

Roberto Soldado will undergo a medical at Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday after Tottenham, Valencia and his agents all agreed on a deal.

The transfer fee is €30million, which consists of an upfront payment of €12million, followed by three sets of €6million over the next few years. There had been a delay in the deal due to Soldado’s agent wanting a €350,000 payment for the whole of the striker’s contract duration at Valencia, when in reality he had only completed half of the contract. Thankfully they have now backed down on this demand and everything is moving forward.

Soldado will fly to London on Thursday morning to undergo his medical and to put pen to paper on a deal at White Hart Lane. Valencia will also confirm the arrival of former Spurs player Helder Postiga as Soldado’s replacement at the La Liga outfit.

Levy and co have negotiated well and hard with Valencia president Amadeo Salvo on bringing Soldado to Spurs – now the question remains if Gareth Bale will still be around to link up with the Spanish international.

  1. Thank god for that. Can't wait to see him unveiled. Just please keep bale at least for one more season. We could do something special. Coys!!

    • don't get your hopes up until it is officially on the spurs website .I for one hope it is true as Soldado would be a quality signing but have been left disappointed before with stories of players we have "signed" only for it not to go thru in the end. COYS

  2. 26mil for a 28 year old smacks of utter desperation. Levy is looking desperate. This is hypocritical from him given his previous reluctance on older players. If they sell him in 3 years at 31 yrs old they will be lucky to receive one third of this fee. AVB need not worry as there is zero chance that he is still at WHL in 3 years time. Besides Levy would have started building the new stadium and will be selling out to the M Eastern or Russians by then making him and JL a fortune. Don't be fooled. This is ALL ABOUT CASH FOR LEVY.

    • Your wrong. This is a quality signing. Soldado is at his peak. This is an unselfish football signing. This isn't about making a profit or developing a youngster it's saying 'we want to win something' . Fair play to levy I didn't think he had the balls to do something like this. Similar to united getting van persi

      • Exactly right Azas.

Mark – For once we are signing a top class player at his peak, therefore we have not signed him for his re-sale value. I don't care if in three years time he's worth £3.50 if he fires us in to the Champions League for three years in a row, which he will, mark my works (excuse the pun!)

    • The real money for Levy lies in playing Champions league football and this quality signing will provide that and help grantee 30mil+ every season. I think that's value for money.

    • Mark, u are not a spurs fan with stupid comments such as yours. We will get 5 years out of this guy and plenty of goals no problem. I know Levy has frustrated us fans at times in the past, but now he has opened the purse springs properly you are still complaining!!! get real. As for Levy selling out to the ruskies, what are u on, or are u reading the Beano comic again? As for the money, Bale wants out, so let him go for the BEST price we can get. All that money in the coffers will certainly come in handy for sure. So if u are a real spurs fan Mark, keep the bloody faith for Christ sake.!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. @Mark, so r u suggesting that we shouldn’t sign this player? Then at the end of the transfer window you’ll blame levy for not splashing the cash? How does spending 30m man’s more cash for levy?

  4. Makes me laugh when people moan at Levy for spending big money. He’s been accused of being tight, but more times than not, he makes good profit on players. Soldado, chadli, and Paulinho so far. Not bad for a team in the Europa league

    COYS

  5. How blessed are we to have people like Mark protecting us unselfish well-intentioned Totenham nuts from being fooled by the likes of Levy who has taken the club from also rans to serous potential contenders. Thanks Mark. He nearly fooled me again.

  6. Great signing this is not about sell on value this is about need and we need a world class striker and soldado is just that avb is not going to settle for Thursday night football for to long and levy knows this which is why he’s sanctioned this us true fans just thank levy rather than fault his previous motives coys !!

  7. apparentley daniel levy had a phone call from imf uuummm i wonder spain has they say asked for another bail outor shold we ray b….ale out gareth are you going or not well done daniel nice buisness

  8. As one of the biggest USA Spurs fans, I think the signing is great. I would love for Spurs to give the unlimited budget teams a run for the silver this season. If Levy can grab a central defender………Spurs are on!

  9. At last some good news after jan Vertonghen, G.Bale and the Steau Bucharest defenders saga, fiasco, comical, frustrating incidents. Now D.Levy sort out the G.Bale issue regardless of its outcome quickly, BUY A CENTER BACK and we are sorted for the season.

  10. Soldado is a player we need, a goal scorer at his peak. It doesn't matter about the money as long as he does a job, we always create chances but our finishing has been poor. If he was there last year we would have been 3rd. Bale is going either this year or next so we have money to spend. I would love to steal Suarez under the scums nose though TTIFD
