Spurs confirm Roberto Soldado deal

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have reached a deal for Valencia striker Roberto Soldado, subject to a medical.

We reported yesterday that Soldado will fly to London today to undergo a medical at the new Spurs training centre after both clubs agreed a club-record €30million fee, which consists of an upfront payment of €12million, followed by three sets of €6million over the next few years.

It’s a fantastic piece of business for Spurs to bring in a proven striker with international pedigree. Soldado scored 80 goals in 146 appearances for Valencia.

Soldado joins Paulinho and Nacer Chadli as our new summer signings ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.

  1. Amazing signing. Well done Spurs – a much more impressive signing than benteke. Now if Levy keeps his word & does not sell bale, imagine how good the squad will be next season. We will all be praising the business done this transfer window, maybe. Keep the faith.

  2. Not great news. I know we need a striker but this guy isnt it. He doesnt hold up or link up play that well, isnt that clinical and is prone to major tantrums and strops on the field. Really hope I am proven wrong but I think this is just good money thrown after bad…

  3. Good reason to smile in the mist of Bale's saga. Well done Levy. Shows our intent for the up coming season. COYS………..

  4. Finally Signed ehh, well lets see if the chap is worth the hype, and what a deal, 12 million upfront followed by 6 million payments in forthcoming season ? Bloody nora , well done levy, if this is true, thats how to screw people over.
So still plenty of coffers to add another striker perhaps ? hows about that brazilian chap we been courting for ages ehhh, what was his name again ………. ummm lol :)

    COYS

P.s – as far as Bale is concerned, no one player is bigger than Spurs, if the guy cant come out and say he is happy , and if he wants to go then just let him go and spend the money on some further quality signings, i mean what would happen if he gets injured first game of the season and is out till the new year ? Shit happens , we cant just rely on him

    :)
