Caulker undergoing Cardiff medical – Spurs fans take to Twitter

Momentum is gathering regarding speculation that Steven Caulker is set to join Cardiff City in a record £9million deal.

The Spurs defender who is still just 21 has already represented England at senior level and could be heading for the White Hart Lane exit. This would also tie in with the news that Spurs are closing in on a deal for Steau Bucharest central defender Vlad Chiriches.

Wales Online are reporting that Caulker is already in Cardiff undergoing a medical with the Premier League newcomers and are close to completing a deal.  With Jan Vertonghen picking up an injury during the Barclays Asia Trophy, William Gallas’ release and doubts over Younes Kaboul’s fitness it’s a risky decision by Spurs and AVB to part with the promising Caulker.

Some Spurs fans have not taken too well to the news that Caulker could be set for an N17 exit with a move down the M4 with a return to the Principality after an earlier loan spell with Swansea City.

  1. so what are we getting for our money in wales spurs fans, as it is a wack of money….Have we got a gem and what are his best attributes.? Best of luck for the new season there guys, and pls pls put Chelsea in their rightful place this year,

  2. Good player, but makes far too many mistakes.

Number of times i saw him lose concentration and let his player go past him was unreal. Shame as he was solid whilst at Swansea, maybe just not good enough for a team with top 4 ambitions

    • 'top 4 ambitions'………….Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle have been in the Champions League more!!! You're a one player team and he's leaving for Madrid. Ambitious!!! Its like the next Israeli president buying timeshare in Palestine its that ambitious!!!

  3. Very worrying. He's English, decent bloke, excellent prospect, young, powerful….and off to bloody Cardiff. If AVB thinks an untried Romanian is good cover when others have injury problems, this could be a huge mistake.

  4. I've always had the feeling that AVB doesn't fancy him much. Why else would Gallas have gotten so much field time last season? I'm not liking the disappearance of the young English talent from the squad. Caulker going is a mistake

  5. This just shows Levy is a complete moron who is lost.
Very bad news, should have only been a loan.
He is a great academy prospect.

    • He is just 21, and has already got several England senior team call-up. And even scored for the national team. We shoudn’t sell him. Perhaps we must sell Baldini himself back to Roma or somewhere else, if it is his idea.
