Zidane once again out to unsettle Bale

Real Madrid ambassador Zinedine Zidane believes Gareth Bale is among the top three players in the world and “more than good enough” for the Spanish giants.

The French legend has once again spoken for his admiration for the Spurs winger, which reading between the lines could possibly be a tactic to unsettle Bale at the club. Zidane had previously praised Bale as recently as last month, which you can see here.

It is going to be an anxious summer for all connected with Tottenham unless Daniel Levy and co can tie Bale down to a new deal. We all know his current deal runs until 2016, but after the season he has had he deserves fresh terms.  Maybe Zidane is just jealous since Gerry Francis never signed him for being too ‘wooden’.

Zidane told reporters: “I’ve been watching Tottenham because Gareth Bale has been playing there.

“Aside from Ronaldo and Messi, he is the player who has impressed me the most in the world. He is outstanding.

“What has particularly impressed me is that he is consistent. It’s not just been in one or two matches.

“He is consistently scoring spectacular goals and very important goals. He is very quick, skilful and exciting.

“Of course all the talented players like that can come to Real Madrid. Is he good enough for Real Madrid? Of course. He is more than good enough to play for Real Madrid.”

  1. Just look and see: he is now running his masters business: he is a Real Madrid Ambassador. Zidane, you were a great footballer, and you have rightly spotted Bale as a major talent. So, leave it there and leave out the commercial Real role and let the guy in peace please.

  2. If this is not tapping up I don't know what is. It's the same old thing the two big clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona can do what they like. They think that every players ambition is to play for one of these two teams and it's other clubs that have put them on this pedestal by giving into them all the time. It's a complete joke the way they are allowed to carry on. They sit a the top of the table with everyone throwing them their best scraps so we are all guilty of putting them in this position. It's the same old story "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer".

  3. If you want him your gonna have to headbutt levy in the face! …. Oh wait, pretend I didn’t say that, that won’t work I promise.

  4. LISTEN ZZ KEEP YOUR FAT NOSE OUT OF TOTTENHAM AFFAIRS THIS IS THE WRONG TIME FOR BALE TO GO ABROAD DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE HAS A YOUNG FAMILY I DON`T KNOW WHICH WAY YOU PUT YOUR PRIORITES IN BUT TRYING TO UNSETTLE THE YOUNG BALE IS WAY OUT OF LINE THE LAD NEEDS A COUPLE MORE YEARS FOR HIS FAMILY TO COME TO TEARMS WITH ANY ABOAD TRANSFER .

  5. Tapping up at it's best ZZ F*%k off and how about concentrate on Madrid, left behind in the league smashed in the champions league and beaten by your local rivals in the copa del rey. Why would Bale join Madrid when the league is terrible the manager changes more regular than chelsea. As a spurs fan I hope so much he stays and if he were to go he should go to Bayern if anywhere. Personally I think he'll stay at spurs for a while yet as I believe he might actually not be the mercenary Zidane thinks he is and puts his family life first.

  6. I think the likes of Zidane & Desailly who also said more or less the same thing should show Tottenham a bit more respect. As should all aspects of the media, who for some strange reason want to see Gareth Bale sold.
