110,000 km and 78 matches – Heung Min Son’s exhausting 2018/19 season in numbers

Heung Min Son always seems to play with a smile on his face and a spring in his step, no matter whether it’s the Champions League Final or the League Cup Fourth Round.

The South Korean clearly just has a pure love for the sport and for the people he gets to spend time with each and every day.

It’s a good thing he likes football too, because he played a whole lot of it throughout the 2018/19 campaign for both club and country.

Son is obviously one of Tottenham’s most-used players due to his immense quality both upfront and on the wing, and he is also South Korea’s shining talisman.

Son played 48 games for Spurs last season, scoring an impressive 20 goals, including four in the Champions League (TransferMarkt).

However, Optus Sport have now revealed a full breakdown of exactly how much Son put into the beautiful game last season.

For club and country, Son apparently played 78 matches, travelling 110,000 km to play for South Korea. This included the World Cup, the Asia Cup, and the Asia Games.

He also played 72% of his matches with less than fives days rest from the previous game.

How is this man not injured more often?
