Tottenham Hotspur were always guaranteed to have a World Cup winner in their squad, with Argentina and Spain reaching the final.
For the last four years, Cristian Romero has been the north London club’s World Cup-winning star, but that has now changed after Pedro Porro helped Spain lift the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy.

Porro played his part in a complete team display from Spain and earned an impressive 7.8 FotMob rating – the second-highest among the back five, with only Pau Cubarsi receiving a higher score of 8.0.

Spurs’ Porro capped a remarkable tournament in style
Porro was also the third-highest-rated player in the entire match, outperforming the likes of Lionel Messi, Dani Olmo and Mikel Oyarzabal, while receiving the same rating as Lamine Yamal.
In fact, Rodri, who was named Player of the Tournament, and Cubarsi, who won the Young Player of the Tournament award, were the only players to receive higher ratings.
It is difficult to argue against what was an outstanding display from the Spurs full-back in the final, as he stood his ground defensively while coming up against Nico González.
He also contributed to Spain’s overall attacking plan, completing 91 per cent of his passes, producing 15 passes into the final third and finishing with seven recoveries – underlining the all-round quality of his performance.
