16-year-old Alfie Devine breaks two Tottenham records on his competitive debut

Everyone knew that it would be a day to remember for the Marine FC players as they faced Premier League Tottenham Hotspur this evening, but few would have expected Alfie Devine to make headlines.

The Spurs youngster was introduced at half-time against the non-league side, replacing Moussa Sissoko in the centre of the pitch alongside fellow youth player, Harvey White.

This made Devine the youngest-ever first-team player to turn out for Tottenham Hotspur at 16 days and 163 days old.

However, Devine was keen to show that he belonged among the Tottenham first-teamers, getting his name on the scoresheet with a lovely cut inside the box and near post finish.

The goal from Devine gave him his second record of the night, becoming Spurs’ youngest-ever first-team goal scorer (Alasdair Gold).

Tottenham won the FA Cup third-round game against Marine 5-0 and have thus booked their place in the fourth and fifth round double draw on Monday evening.
