16-year-old Spurs starlet spotted training with the first team this week

Tottenham Hotspur’s teenage sensation, Mikey Moore, has been training with the first team this week, and has not been available to play for the Under-18 squad as a result.

There are a number of exciting young talents coming through at Tottenham right now, and while Mikey Moore may be one of the youngest, he is also one of the most promising.

The 16-year-old has registered an impressive 16 goals and nine assists in just 14 games for the Spurs youth team this season (Transfermarkt).

Spurs legend Gary Mabbutt has previously compared Moore’s development to that of Harry Kane, with the former captain suggesting the youngster could evolve into more of a striker from his current attacking midfield role (talkSPORT).

Mikey Moore training with the senior squad again

Now, Moore has stepped up to the Tottenham first-team for a training session this week. And it’s not for the first time, either, with the starlet previously joining Ange Postecoglou‘s senior squad back in February (TheSpursExpress).

The latest appearance was spotted by Lilywhite Rose, with a photo of Moore training alongside the first team. The tweet reads: “Understand Mikey Moore trained with the first team today and as such was not available to play for the U18s.”

One shot from the session shows Moore holding off Dejan Kulusevski as the pair battle for the ball.

Whether this actually means Moore is in Postecoglou’s immediate plans or not remains to be seen, but it’s yet another promising sign for the player’s development path at Tottenham.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s highly unlikely that we will see Mikey Moore in any matchday squad this season, or for a good couple of years, to be fair. But, the fact he is stepping up and getting this experience can only be a good thing for his development. The most important thing is that we don’t rush him.
