20-year-old attacker linked with Spurs last summer claims he is ready for a move

German youngster, Kai Havertz, who has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham, has revealed that he is open to a move away from the Bundesliga this summer.

The attacking midfielder has been in sensational form for Bayer Leverkusen over the last two seasons and is already a full German international despite being just 20 years of age.

His performances have reportedly made him a wanted man across Europe with the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid all following his progress (Goal.com).

Sky Sports reported last summer that Spurs have been tracking the midfielder for a number of seasons and were considering making an offer for him.

Despite the growing interest in Havertz, he has decided to stay put at Leverkusen up until this point, although he has now admitted that he is ready for the next step in his career.

Speaking to Sport Bild (as translated by TBR Football), the youngster said: “I’m ready to take a big step, and I like challenges. For me, this also includes abroad.

“Leverkusen are a great club, I feel good. I have always said that. But, of course, I want to take the next step in my career at some point. That’s my ambition.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Last summer would have been the ideal time to sign Havertz as his price has likely gone up even further after the impressive season he’s had for Leverkusen. There is no doubt that it would be a great coup if we managed to sign him but, given the amount of interest in the midfielder, it looks as if we have our work cut out if we wish to bring him to North London.
