Matthew Craig has admitted that he is over the moon at signing a new contract at Tottenham, adding that the club feels like ‘home’ to him.
The versatile defensive midfielder, who can also operate as a central defender and as a right-back, has come through the age group ranks of the Spurs academy and has established himself as an indispensable part of the club’s Under-21s set-up over the last couple of years.

The 20-year-old made his senior debut in Tottenham’s 4-1 win at Elland Road in the final game of the 2022-23 campaign.
Craig put pen to paper on a three-year contract extension last week, and having now got a taste of first-team football, he admitted that he is determined to continue pushing and impress the new coaching staff at the club.

Craig comes across as being quite mature for his age, which is perhaps the reason why he is already one of the leaders of the Under-21s set-up and captained the Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League last season.
The 20-year-old’s versatility also suggests that he has a good tactical understanding of the game, which is not common for someone so young.
