21-year-old linked with Spurs tipped to become one of the best in the world

Real Madrid youth coordinator Stefan Kohfahl has backed rumoured Spurs target Achraf Hakimi to become one of the world’s best in his position.

Hakimi has been in sensational form during his two-year loan spell at Borussia Dortmund which comes to an end this summer.

The right-back has particularly impressed as an attacking force this season managing seven assists and three goals in twenty-five Bundesliga outings (transfermarkt).

While Dortmund are said to be keen on extending Hakimi’s stay at the Westfalenstadion (AS), Spurs have also reportedly identified the pacey defender as a target this summer (Bladi.net)

The Moroccan international recently admitted that he is yet to make a decision over his future (CadenaSer via Goal).

Kohfahl who has worked with the Moroccan international when he was coming through the Castilla side is no doubt over the defender’s potential.

When asked who among the young players at Real Madrid could go all the way to the top, he told Goal: “For me, Hakimi, who I already identified three years ago [has the best chance of going on to be one of the best].”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given the recent reports about the alarming state of our finances, a permanent move for Hakimi is next to impossible even if Real Madrid are willing to sell him. I don’t believe Jose is likely to view an addition at right-back as a priority compared to defensive midfield or striker. I thus expect us to snap up Meunier on a free transfer.
