21-year-old Spurs man joins League Two side on loan until January

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Kazaiah Sterling has joined Southend United on loan until January.

The forward made his first-team debut for the Lilywhites back in 2017, coming on as a late substitute for Dele Alli in a Champions League group game but he has only gone on to manage two appearances for the club in total (transfermarkt.com).

After a disappointing loan spell at Sunderland during the second half of the 18-19 season, Sterling was loaned out to Doncaster Rovers last time out but just made three appearances for the League One club in a spell which was hampered by injury.

He subsequently joined Leyton Orient in the second half of last season but injuries and the suspension of the league due to COVID-19 meant that the youngster did not make a single appearance for the Os.

The 21-year-old will be hoping to have a much bigger impact at League Two rivals Southend, who have made a poor start to the campaign, having lost three of their opening four games this season.

The Seasiders will be hoping that the arrival of Sterling to Roots Hall will help turn around their fortunes.
