22-year-old Spurs player admits he wants more goals and assists next season

Ryan Sessegnon has admitted that he wants to be able to contribute more in the final third during the upcoming season.

Sessegnon has struggled to fulfil his potential since joining Tottenham from Fulham as a teenager back in 2019, partly due to his injury problems.

While the youngster was not without injuries last season either, he arguably had his best campaign in a Spurs shirt so far, establishing himself as Antonio Conte’s first choice at left wing-back ahead of Sergio Reguilon.

However, the 22-year-old did not find the back of the net last season and only managed to get two assists across his 15 Premier League appearances (Transfermarkt).

Conte will certainly want more from the former England Under-21 international, given the reliance on wing-backs to create chances in the Italian’s tried and tested system.

Sessegnon has remarked that he wants to have the sort of impact that he did in the final third during his time at Craven Cottage.

He told The Daily Mail: “My aim this season is to score more goals and more assists. I scored a lot of goals at Fulham so I just want to get back to that this season.”
