24-year-old reported Spurs target plays down possibility of January exit

Rumoured Tottenham target Alexis Mac Allister has said that he is happy at Brighton and is not paying too much attention to the speculation over his future.

Unsurprisingly, Mac Allister has been one of the most talked about names leading up to the January transfer window after he stepped up and delivered for Argentina on the big stage in Qatar.

Tottenham are one of the clubs who have been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old over recent weeks, with reports indicating that Antonio Conte had been a fan of the Argentine even before his heroics at the World Cup (CMW.it).

The Athletic reported a couple of days ago that Mac Allister is also on the radar of Chelsea, with the report asserting that the Seagulls value the midfielder at a whopping £60m in light of his showing in Qatar.

The former Boca Juniors man has now said that he is in no rush to leave the Amex Stadium and is focused on doing well for Roberto De Zerbi’s men.

Mac Allister told BBC Sport: “I feel really good with this club and my team-mates, and everyone who works here. I try not to read too much. I always say I am really happy here and I don’t have any rush to leave. I am focused on the next game with this club.”

Mac Allister is being professional with his comments but he will surely be tempted to leave if a Champions League club comes calling, having tasted the euphoria of winning the biggest trophy in the game.

However, it will prove extremely difficult to prize him away from Brighton, either this month or during the summer, as his current contract runs until 2025, with the Seagulls having the option to extend it by 12 months (Transfermarkt).
