£35m-rated winger linked with Spurs provides update on his future

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be active in the current transfer window after nearly 18 months of no activity in the market.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side came up short against Liverpool in the Champions League final and their inability to cause Liverpool a threat in the final third, especially from side areas is certainly a cause for concern going into next season.

One player who has been linked with a potential move to Tottenham is PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn (Sky Sports).

The 21-year-old impressed for the Dutch side during their Champions League group stage tie against Spurs at Wembley in November and has enjoyed an impressive season.

Bergwijn scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 40 games for PSV in all competitions this season.

The Dutch international has been speaking about his future and insists that he is keeping his options open amid potential interest which is also said to be coming from the direction of PSV’s rivals, Ajax.

The pacey wide-man is said to be available for around £35million and is also attracting interest from Manchester United (Sky Sports).

Bergwijn told Voetball Primeur: “I just have to look calmly and keep everything open.

“I stay fairly calm. As long as I don’t hear anything, I don’t have to worry about anything either. I don’t necessarily have to leave PSV and it doesn’t necessarily have to be Ajax, I just have to see what is best for me and for my development.”
