Five Championship players Spurs should consider bidding for

Given the inflated nature of the transfer market over the past few seasons, it is very hard to get a deal that represents good value for money, particularly when it comes to buying well-known players.

However, there are some gems in the lower leagues who certainly have the potential to flourish in the Premier League, and wouldn’t cost an extravagant amount.

Dele Alli’s exploits at Spurs certainly proves this point.

Here are 5 stars from the Championship that Tottenham can bid for in the summer:

5) Jack Clarke

Jack Clarke broke into the Leeds first team this season and has really impressed for Bielsa’s men. The 18-year-old has made 17 appearances for United this season and has displayed the ability to drive at the opposition and force them back.

While Clarke is fairly raw at the moment, Pochettino could be the right guy to oversee his development.

4) Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham has arguably been the best striker in the Championship this season. The Villa striker is not just a goalscorer but is also capable of dropping deep and linking up play.

However, since Abraham’s parent club Chelsea might have to observe a transfer embargo for two seasons, it is unlikely that the Blues will be listening to offers for Abraham.

3) Jarrod Bowen

Bowen has been prolific for Hull City this season netting 19 goals in 36 appearances. He offers something that Spurs are missing in the squad as he is a left-footed player who likes cutting in from the right and having shots at goal.

While Bowen is reported to have several potential suitors, a bid from Spurs could convince the 22-year-old to move to North London.

2) Che Admas

With Llorente’s contract running out at the end of the season, Spurs can do a lot worse than getting Che Adams as a backup to Harry Kane. The 21-year-old has hit the back of the net 21 times already and would flourish if given the opportunity to learn from Harry Kane.

Adams is quick, technically good and can finish well. He is capable of providing what the likes of Callum Wilson can but will probably cost much less than the Bournemouth striker.

1) Jack Grealish

Grealish was linked with Spurs extensively in last season’s transfer window but the move fell through in the end. While the Aston Villa midfielder didn’t have the best of starts to the season, he has been excellent since coming back from injury.

The 23-year-old would be an ideal replacement for Dembele, as like the Belgian he is capable of running with the ball and beating players in central midfield. It is also clear that the Tottenham hierarchy rate the Englishman highly. So, it will be interesting to see if Spurs return for the Villa midfielder this summer.
