Tottenham Hotspur have been told that it will cost £10million to sign Ipswich Town starlet Connor Wickham.

The 17-year-old is attracting interest from Spurs and Arsenal, although the Championship side are keen to hold onto the player.

Wickham’s father, Stefan, has said previously that his son will not be leaving Portman Road this summer and that the decision is about his future development, not money.

  1. and this is why we have no english football team….He is unproven at the higest level but you want 10mil…its a joke…..i understand the boy has talent but say we pay say 10mil his agent gets a cut the club get money and the boy goes from a could be good player to multi millions in the bank then comes the bootdeal and other forms of boost my ego and before you no it the bloke is no longer a younger player who needs to learn his trade in a team and play week in week out he is just the same as all the rest…over hyped over played and in the end over paid

    • Totally agree south upper, the way for ipswich to earn out of it is in the clauses, don't slap that fee on the kid.

  2. Very well said south upper. Would much prefer to see this young man stay and learn his trade all that money for one so young can only ruin the lad.

  3. He needs to get a good full season under his belt before a big money bid will come in for him. I have a feeling Ipswich will let him go for less, because of their debt.

  4. spurs should try and negotiate a deal to buy at a reasonable price and keep him there for at least 1 season, to allow for his development, and keep him away from the Arses, as he has the skill and potential to be a spurs great.
