£75m price tag for Spurs target

According to The Sunday Mirror Manchester United have slapped a staggering £75million price-tag on unhappy striker Anthony Martial to scare off rival clubs.

United are keen to keep hold of the Frenchman and are trying to fend off interest from Tottenham, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid by demanding so much money.

Their valuation is way above what Spurs are willing to pay, and although no bids have been tabled so far United are keen to kill speculation about Martial’s future however the striker has already rejected talks over a new contract, with his frustration growing at spending too much time on the bench.

Martial joined United from Monaco in a £58m deal three years ago, and made an instant impact with a stunning winner against Liverpool on his debut, however since Jose Mourinho’s arrival as manager in summer 2016, he has struggled to impose himself and grab a regular starting spot.

He was left out of the France squad for this World Cup in Russia by boss Didier Deschamps and Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley insisted his client wants to leave.

Mourinho questioned Martial’s application last season – and the pair have an uneasy relationship that is behind his desire for a fresh start.
