£80m-valued winger wants Arsenal move amid Spurs interest

According to a report in The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha is desperate to complete a move to Arsenal this summer.

The Gunners reportedly only have a budget of around £45 million to spend on new recruits this summer and will have to sell players before being able to sign their primary targets.

Unai Emery has reportedly identified Zaha as a player who can improve the Arsenal squad. The report suggests that the Ivorian has urged Palace to drop their asking price of £80 million so that he can complete his move to North London.

The 26-year-old, who enjoyed the most prolific season of his career last term netting 10 goals, has also been linked with a move to Spurs.

The Guardian claimed a few weeks ago that Spurs still retain an interest in the pacey wide man but it now looks like the Gunners have the upper hand in the race for Zaha’s signature.

Based on reports in the press so far, it doesn’t seem like Zaha is one of Tottenham’s priorities this summer. It looks like the club have instead decided to focus on strengthening in the central midfield positions first. However, if Spurs were in for him, it is unlikely that Zaha will pick Arsenal considering that the Lilywhites can offer him Champions League football.
