“He is on fire” – Some fans react to report of interest in Spurs’ international forward

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to share their reaction to a report that a number of Championship clubs have enquired about the availability of Troy Parrott (Football League World).

Parrott did not make the expected impact on loan at Millwall in the first half of the last season, with the teenager finding game time hard to come by.

Spurs recalled the striker in January and loaned him out to Ipswich and, while the 19-year-old fared much better for the League One side, featuring often in a number ten role, he only managed to find the back of the net twice during his time at the Portman Road Stadium.

However, Parrott has hit the ground running at MK Dons this season and demonstrated why he is thought of so highly at Spurs.

The Republic of Ireland international has scored three goals and picked up three assists for the League One club so far this campaign.

Football League World have claimed that Tottenham are now fielding Championship enquiries regarding the teenager on the back of his start to life at Stadium MK.

However, it is explained that the North London club are not open to any further moves for Parrott on a loan or permanent basis at this moment in time.

Spurs are thought to believe that the striker’s development could follow a similar trajectory to that of Harry Kane.

Here is a selection of thoughts from the North London faithful.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would like Parrott to see out the remainder of the season at MK Dons, rather than being recalled and loaned to a Championship club in January. The 19-year-old needs to build up his confidence after his struggles last season and he certainly looks to be enjoying his football for Liam Manning’s side.
