Report reveals extra details regarding Mourinho’s Real Madrid training comments

The Sun has claimed that Jose Mourinho was talking to Joao Sacramento and other members of the Spurs backroom staff recalling threat that he issued to Gareth Bale during the crisis talks that he had with the winger which was picked up on audio of training footage released by the club.

Bale has not hit the expected heights since his fairytale return to Tottenham in the summer, having started only one Premier League game so far this season.

Mourinho said on Friday that it was always going to take some time for the Welshman to get back to his best and insisted that he still had time to turn his fortunes around before the end of the season.

However, it appears as if the Spurs boss is much less forgiving of the 31-year-old in private.

The Sun revealed that in the training video released by Spurs TV from earlier last week, Mourinho is heard telling Sacramento and his team that he warned Bale that he could return to Real Madrid if he does not improve.

The report quotes the Portuguese coach as saying: “You want to stay here? Or go to Real Madrid and play no football?”

In fairness to Bale, he cannot show his quality if he does not get a consistent run in the side for three or four games in a row and gets an opportunity to build some momentum. Perhaps the Welshman is just not doing enough in training to convince Mourinho that he deserves to start.
