‘A big battle’ – Gary Neville predicts where Spurs will finish this season

Gary Neville has predicted that Tottenham will finish in the top three along with Manchester City and Liverpool, and that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United will battle it out for the fourth spot.

Tottenham are unbeaten in the first six matches of the campaign, having picked up 14 points from a possible 18. That means that Antonio Conte’s men are tied on points with City and just one behind Arsenal, who sit at the top of the table.

The Gunners’ perfect record ended at Old Trafford on Sunday, with Man Utd emerging 3-1 winners. After a poor start to the season, the Red Devils have now won four in four matches and have thus rocketed up the league table to fifth place.

Chelsea and Liverpool have struggled for consistency so far this campaign and currently sit in sixth and seventh place respectively.

Following United’s win on Sunday, Neville, Roy Keane, Paul Merson and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink were asked to predict their top four, and Neville insisted that Tottenham are one of three teams who are nailed on to qualify for the Champions League.

He told Sky Sports: “I think City, Liverpool and Tottenham will finish in the top three. I think Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United… it’s a big battle. I think United will struggle to get into the top four, personally.”

At this stage, it does seem like the race for the top four spots will be a lot fiercer than it has been in the last two seasons. I remain confident that Spurs will be able to finish third but there is no doubt that Arsenal are much stronger than they were last season, despite their loss at Old Trafford.
