Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur should stay away from Graham Potter, describing his work at Chelsea as a ‘disaster’.
Tottenham have been linked with a whole host of managers over the last few weeks, including the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Oliver Glasner, Roberto De Zerbi, Luis Enrique and several others (The Athletic).
However, if reports over the last 48 hours are to be believed, Spurs are now said to have narrowed down their list to four choices – Julian Nagelsmann, Vincent Kompany, Thomas Frank and Arne Slot (Daily Star).
Perhaps one outside contender for the job could be Potter after the 47-year-old parted ways with Chelsea a few days ago.
The English head coach was reported to be of interest to Tottenham during his Brighton days (Football.London) but O’Hara has said that the ‘woeful’ football that Chelsea played during his time at Stamford Bridge should exclude him from being a contender for the Spurs job.
When asked if he would take Potter at N17, the pundit told talkSPORT: “After watching Chelsea play, no. I think it’s been a disaster.
“If you asked me that when he left Brighton I would have said yes.
“But watching this team [Chelsea] play, it’s been absolutely woeful to watch, they’ve been awful.
“So, no I wouldn’t take him at Spurs now. I think he needs to regroup.”
Spurs Web Opinion
While his struggles at Chelsea does not necessarily make Potter a bad coach, he certainly will not be in contention for the big jobs for the time being.
The fact that the 47-year-old turned down Spurs previously means that Levy will certainly not consider going back to him.
There is also the problem of the poor optics of hiring yet another Chelsea reject.
