A few facts on BSC Young Boys

So we now know who Tottenham will face in the Champions League play-off, on paper it looks as if we’ve had a fantastic draw against BSC Young Boys.

Here’s a few quick facts on the Swiss club.

  • They finished 2nd in the Swiss Super League last season
  • Young Boys play their home games at the 32,000 capacity Stade de Suisse in Bern
  • Beat Turkish giants Fenerbache 3-2 in 3rd qualifying round
  • Have never faced English opposition in European competition

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. The Stade de Suisse, or to give it its proper name, the Wankdorf Stadium…does it get better than that??
Personally looking forward to getting Wankdorf tickets.

  2. fernebache played with 10 men for the second half in both legs of qualifying tie, as long as we don't get players sent off we should beat them

  3. They are weak defensively but good at counter attacking, they have quick strikers.. Spurs should not underestimate them.

  4. to the tune of classic village people hit young man…young boys, we’ll beat them home and away, young boys, draw couldn’t’ve went better, first we’re away!!! coys!!!

  5. Decent draw but one can’t help feeling like we’re on a kicking to nothing here. On the one hand if we beat this lot (take nothing for granted) we will be the team that beat a load of young boys and let’s not think about if we lost.

  6. I’m happy as hell we didn’t get Kiev but now that the draw has been made the team needs to focus on the task at hand and not underestimate the opposition like most of you guys on this forum :-)

We need a clinical display to get us into the Group phase nothing less and the Swiss side won’t roll over and die for us…

  7. As I've been a Spurs supporter for years and living/growing up in Switzerland, I am really looking forward to this! I've actually been hoping the lads would face a Swiss team every time they played European ties (which hasn't happened to often in the last 13 years….). And now Champions League in Switzerland! Really hope they don't underestimate YB, they played two decent ties against Fenerbahce, I'd say they are as strong as Sunderland or Fulham. COYS! See you in Bern!

  8. They have a young English right back who plays like Bale, bombing forward and crossing the ball well, and is a mad spurs fan, born in Enfield and raised in Potters Bar.
