‘A good starting XI’ – Pundit makes Spurs claim thanks to Dejan Kulusevski

Gabriel Agbonlahor has admitted that he has been impressed with what he has seen of Dejan Kulusevski at Tottenham so far, insisting the Swede is exactly the kind of player Spurs were crying out for.

Kulusevski has quickly established himself as a regular in the Tottenham forward line alongside Harry Kane and Son Heung-min since his move from Juventus in January.

The Swede’s ability to cut in from the right has seemingly added more balance to the Spurs attack and the 21-year-old has also linked up impressively with Matt Doherty over recent weeks.

The winger has already found the back of the net twice and registered three assists in the Premier League (Transfermarkt) and Spurs fans will be hoping that he continues to build on the impressive start to his Tottenham career.

Agbonlahor has claimed that Kulusevski’s addition makes the Spurs starting eleven a lot stronger, insisting that Antonio Conte’s men are not far away from the top sides in the Premier League.

When asked about the winger, the former Aston Villa striker told Football Insider: “I watched him a bit at Juventus and thought he was a talented player.

“What he does for Spurs is, he suits the formation. A left-footer, coming from the right, that’s what they’ve been crying out for.

“He gets involved in play a lot more than the likes of Lamela and Lo Celso would.

“I thought he was outstanding against Everton and he’s been outstanding the whole time he’s been at Spurs so far.

“Spurs, as an 11, are not actually far off if they can sort their inconsistency out. They’ve got a good starting XI at the moment.”

Kulusevski seems like a good fit for Conte’s system and given that he is only 21 years of age, Spurs fans are understandably getting excited about the kind of player the Swede can develop into. Hopefully, he will continue to get better as he gets used to the demands of Premier League football.
