‘A grafter’ – Pundit reveals what Conte will like about new Spurs signing

Craig Burley has insisted that Dejan Kulusevski fits the bill for what Antonio Conte needs, insisting that the winger will work his socks off for the side.

Fabio Paratici raided his former club for both Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancour on transfer deadline day – two players which the Spurs managing of football director had previously signed during his time at Juventus.

According to The Athletic, Conte has also been an admirer of the Swede and tried in vain to take him to Inter Milan two years ago.

Kulusevski admitted in his first interview as a Tottenham player (with the club’s official website) that signing for the north London outfit is a “dream come true” and that he is excited about getting a chance to play in the Premier League.

Spurs fans will be hoping that the 21-year-old recaptures the form he previously showed during his loan spell at Parma.

Burley believes that Kulusevski has the right sort of attitude to thrive in Conte’s set-up at Tottenham.

The pundit told ESPN FC: “Kulusevski fits the bill. He can be frustrating because, where is his best position? But he is a grafter, a worker.

“If Conte asks him to run, he will do it. He’s not a slacker, he won’t have to worry about his attitude.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Conte evidently wanted players who would be capable of following his tactical instructions and sacrifice themselves for the betterment of the team. That certainly explains why he got rid of the likes of Ndombele and Lo Celso.

While neither Kulusevski nor Bentancour are the type of signings that would excite the fan base, Conte has clearly earmarked them as players he can trust to carry out his plans.
