‘A great club’ – Footballing superstar rules out playing for Tottenham in his life

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has admitted that he does not see himself playing for Tottenham Hotspur in his career.

The 23-year-old is one of the world’s most sought-after players and is likely to command plenty of interest in the coming transfer window.

Mbappe is due to be out of contract with PSG in June and will soon be available to discuss potential pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs.

Real Madrid allegedly attempted to court Mbappe to the Bernabeu in the summer, but reports claimed the French giants failed to respond to a monster €180 million (£151.5m) transfer bid.

Since then, he has been bizarrely linked with Tottenham after Spider-Man: No Way Home actor and Spurs fan Tom Holland attempted to convince him to make the move to N17.

While Mbappe has since shut down any possibility of a move to North London, he claimed Spurs could have a good season under Italian tactician Antonio Conte.

In an interview with CNN, he said: “I don’t think I will play for Tottenham in my life. He [Tom Holland] asked me about it, but no, no. It’s a great club… And I’m sure they will make something good this season with [Antonio] Conte.”

This is the second time that Mbappe has shut down any talk of a move to Tottenham. If we’re being completely realistic, it is a ridiculously unlikely transfer, but it is always worth a go – just in case something crazy does happen.
