‘A great manager’ – Harry Kane speaks for the first time on Nuno appointment

Harry Kane has revealed that he is yet to speak to new Tottenham Hotspur head coach Nuno Espírito Santo.

Despite the lack of contact as a result of Kane’s almost blinkered focus on leading England to glory at Euro 2020, he praised the new manager for the work he did at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 27-year-old’s future has been the subject of intense media speculation since the end of last season with reports claiming that Manchester City had made a £100 million bid along with the option to use players as part of a deal as a makeweight (Sky Sports).

Kane told talkSPORT: “Whenever a new manager comes in, I guess there’s a level of excitement around the club. Obviously, I’ve not been there and not had any contact with him.

“I’m away with England now and my full focus is on here. Hopefully, we’ve got a week left.

“He’s a great manager and did a great job at Wolves and got them playing a really good way.

“Let’s get back and I’m sure we’ll be in contact after the tournament.”

Despite Kane being the ultimate professional, it is still refreshing to see him praise the new head coach, regardless of how he views his future once he returns to Hotspur Way.

There is no doubt that Levy, Paratici, and Nuno will be doing their upmost to persuade the forward that his focus needs to be on Spurs.
