Kane, Moura and Alderweireld react to Olympiacos draw

Tottenham had to settle for a draw in the opening game of the new Champions League campaign against Olympiacos.

Spurs made a lacklustre start to the game while the hosts started brightly and created several openings. If not for some poor finishing, they would have made their advantage count.

It was Spurs who struck first against the run of play as Harry Kane converted from the penalty spot after being bought down in the box. Tottenham soon doubled their lead courtesy of a well-taken strike from Lucas Moura.

However, they once again conceded a goal just before half time giving the Greek side some momentum going into the break. Olympiacos continued from where the left off as in the second half and piled on the pressure.

They equalized from the penalty spot courtesy of Mathieu Valbuena after Vertonghen was adjudged to have fouled the Frenchman early in the second half.

Spurs finished the game the stronger side but a draw was probably a fair result in the end.

Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Lucas Moura took to social media to react to the draw:

Spurs Web Opinion

The most disappointing aspect of the performance was the fact that the team once again let a two-goal lead slip. While the performance is certainly frustrating, one has to retain perspective and realize that an away draw at Olympiacos is certainly not a bad result as the Greek side have proven extremely hard to beat at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
