A look at the total number of games Lamela has missed since joining Spurs

It would not have surprised many Tottenham fans that Erik Lamela missed the first ever game at the new stadium on Wednesday.

Missing games has become one of the winger’s most famous attributes, as his injury problems have plagued any form of progress in North London.

Since joining from Roma on a club record fee, Lamela has failed to retain any kind of regular starting spot under fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino.

With a squad shake up likely at the end of this season, it could finally be time for Lamela to move away from Tottenham.

It’s a shame because this season Lamela has actually been involved in 10 goals in his last 12 starts in all competitions.

However, the 27-year-old has only made a total of 128 League appearances out of a possible 222 since joining in 2013.

It total, he has played 185 games and missed 132. That makes up 58% of possible appearances, and only 37% of the available minutes (vitalfootball).
