“A player I like” – Bayern Munich CEO praises Spurs-linked midfielder

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted his respect for midfielder Ivan Perisic.

The Croatian international is currently on a season loan long deal at the Bundesliga giants from Inter Milan.

Perisic was named in the Munich starting eleven for last night’s Champions League quarter final match against Barcelona despite the fact that Kingsley Koman was back on the bench.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in a potential swap deal which would see midfielder Erik Lamela return to Italy for his second stint in Serie A (CalcioMercato).

Rummenigge claimed that Perisic does not light up every game which he plays in but always has a positive effect on the Bayern side.

Perisic has previously admitted that he was very close to joining Manchester United in 2017 after receiving a phone call from then manager José Mourinho and revealed it was amazing to have been contacted by the Portuguese (The Athletic.)

Sport1 have claimed that the Croatian is keen to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena.

“Perisic is a player I like. He may not always play spectacularly, but he is effective and does his job,” Rummenigge said to Abendzeitung when asked about Perisic’s future in Munich.
