‘A privilege’ – Richarlison opens up on prospect of working with Conte at Spurs

Richarlison has admitted he is looking forward to working under Antonio Conte at Tottenham and it is a privilege to be coached by the Italian.

Spurs completed the signing of the Brazilian forward from Everton last week, who moves to North London in a deal that could cost up to £60 million (The Guardian).

He is one of five signings for Spurs so far alongside Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Clement Lenglet after head coach Conte called for the club to show activity in the transfer market (The Athletic).

After Richarlison linked up with his new teammates ahead of the club’s pre-season tour of South Korea, he admitted that he is excited to get down to business under a proven winner.

The 25-year-old also revealed he received a message from former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti – a close friend of Conte – congratulating him on the move to the capital.

Richarlison said (via Football.London): “He’s one of the best coaches in the world, isn’t he? So it’s a privilege to be here, to be coached by him. I believe I will learn a lot working with him.

“He is very good friends with Carlo Ancelotti, and Carlo congratulated me on the transfer, said Conte is a friend of his, so I have everything to grow here working with him and I hope to contribute to bringing big victories and titles to help him too.”

Richarlison, despite being in his mid-20s, still has some potential that hasn’t been tapped into as of yet in his career.

Hopefully, a manager like Conte can unlock the rest of his abilities as we have seen just how good he can be from his spells with Everton and Watford.
