‘A real appetite’ – Postecoglou discusses the best way to use Dejan Kulusevski

Looking ahead to the match against West Ham tomorrow, Ange Postecoglou commented on Dejan Kulusevski and the different ways he can use the Swedish winger.

Tottenham will be looking to establish some consistency this week by putting together back-to-back wins with a victory over West Ham on Tuesday.

Ange Postecoglou saw his side battle to a 2-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday. It was a result that went a long way to making amends for the dismal defeat against Fulham before the international break.

However, getting a win against West Ham tomorrow will not only satisfy the need to get one over on a London rival, it will also keep Spurs in the hunt for a place in the Premier League‘s top four.

One player who has been criticised of late is Dejan Kulusevski, with the Swedish star struggling to make the kind of impact he has in the past.

Kulusevski is hungry to prove himself

In his press conference today (via Football.London), Postecoglou shared his thoughts on Kulusevski’s role in his squad and was asked whether the player should move across to the left wing rather than the right.

He said: “I think they can do that. I mean Timo isn’t a left-footed player and he plays on the left-hand side. I think what’s more important to us is that we continue to challenge our players to develop and try to improve them, and Deki and all of those players I mentioned have got a real appetite for it.

“Where they end up positionally, some of that will be dictated by where the team’s at as well and what we need.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Players dropping in form is a very normal thing and we shouldn’t be too concerned about Kulusevski’s current struggles. His passing has been a bit off, and he isn’t having much luck cutting inside onto his left, but he will come good again I’m sure.
