‘A relief’ – Report reveals how Spurs players have enjoyed Nuno training

The Athletic have reported that the Tottenham players have responded positively to Nuno Espirito Santo’s first week in charge of training during pre-season.

It is said that the training has already been a step up in intensity when compared to Jose Mourinho who was sacked back in late April by Daniel Levy and co.

Some players reportedly felt ‘underworked’ by the Special One and the tough training has come as a relief under the former Wolves manager.

The Athletic also report that there is a feeling of a fresh start under Nuno at Hotspur Way this summer, with the Portuguese coach being an excellent communicator on the training pitch.

It is also said that he likes to be hands-on during training sessions and even pre-match warm-ups. In fact, training and fitness work has been so tough that some players had to sit the pre-season friendly against Leyton Orient out.

Spurs Web Opinion:

Tottenham couldn’t get Pochettino so they have brought in Nuno and given him the Pochettino playbook. Come in and rebuild the squad with an emphasis on fitness, high press, attacking football and great squad togetherness.
