Some Spurs fans on social media are upset at way Danny Rose is apparently being treated by the club.
There was plenty of speculation regarding Rose’s future over the past few months but The Athletic revealed that Tottenham were not able to find a buyer for the left-back despite their best attempts to move him on late in the summer transfer window.
The England international has already been left out of Tottenham’s Europa League group stage squad and was also not given a squad number for the Premier League campaign (Sky Sports).
While a few Spurs fans have no sympathy for the left-back and believe that the situation is of his own making, others do not like seeing the experienced defender treated in the manner that he is.
Some fans took to social media to question why the 30-year-old is being frozen out after the fantastic service he has given the club since arriving as a teenager in the summer of 2007.
Rose was seen having a heated conversation with Mourinho during Amazon’s All or Nothing docuseries when the former Leeds player expressed his frustration at his lack of playing time (Independent).
He’s a mouthpiece! The day he thought it was wise to go public with his views on “Googling” players his career went into free fall. Now, not one elite level club is prepared to take a gamble on him. Says it all. Stephen Carr number 2! #thfc

The best thing that Jose Morinho has done since becoming our manager is put Danny Rose in his place. This man has been sniping and damaging our club for years #COYS

Danny Rose left out of Europa League squad merely 16 months after he was our starting LB in the Champions League Final.
Oh my days.

100% down to Danny Rose and his attitude. I feel for him as he was a great player for us, but to be honest he's turned into a bit of a knob!

I feel a bit sorry for Danny Rose. What does he now at do at training?
No squad number?
Does he play for the reserves?Seems a shame for a guy who’s been a great servant to the club over the years.

Danny deserves a lot more from the fans. He has been fantastic for most of his many years with the club. It is a sad situation perhaps of his own making but sad all the same. Some respect for the past contributions.

Danny Rose has given THIRTEEN YEARS service to the Tottenham and they did not even have the DECENCY to tell him he would not be given a squad number, whilst being made to do pre season with the YOUTH TEAM.
Loyalty in football DOES NOT exist, the game really STINKS at times.

Some of you guys are too disrespectful to Rose. He's been poor the last season, and what he's said recently has been questionable. But, the guy is still our best LB in the Premier League era.

The levels of vitriol and animosity towards Danny Rose I'm seeing this morning is sad. This is what drove him of social media after being mercilessly targeted earlier in his Spurs career.
Sign of the times I guess.— Spiggy (@SpiggyTope) October 9, 2020
Anyone else feel sorry for Danny Rose? I know his time is up with us, but he should be be treated with respect and moved on. #COYS

Spurs Web Opinion
If Mourinho has decided that Rose is a negative influence on the changing room, then I do not blame him for not wanting him as a part of the first-team squad. However, there is no doubt that the left-back deserves more respect than he gets from parts of the Spurs fan base as he has given us plenty of fantastic memories over the years. He has apologised for those “Google” comments back in 2017 and in my eyes, that does not tarnish his legacy at Spurs.
