Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts took to Twitter yesterday afternoon to praise Harry Kane.
Kane had missed the last two and a half games after coming off with an ankle injury at half-time against Liverpool and highlighted his importance to the North Londoners after he returned from injury and helped them to end their miserable run of form by scoring in the 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
Spurs had failed to score in their previous two matches against Brighton and Chelsea without their star marksman.
Kane had three good opportunities to break the deadlock in the first half at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but could not find the back of the net.
After the break he took Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s through ball in his stride to stroke the ball into the bottom corner of the net.
The goal was his 208th for the North London outfit which brought him level alongside Bobby Smith and behind only Jimmy Greaves in Spurs’ all-time scoring list.
Roberts was full of praise of Kane and has backed the 27-year-old to go on to break Jimmy Greaves’ record of 266 goals.
