Some Spurs fans on social media are divided over whether or not the club should look to sell Serge Aurier when the transfer window opens this summer.
Aurier has made his fair share of unforced errors since moving to North London but he has arguably been one of Tottenham’s most improved players since the arrival of Jose Mourinho.
The Ivory Coast international has been given a more offensive role, playing almost as a winger when Spurs have the ball under the variation of the 4-2-3-1 system that the Tottenham boss employs.
In fact, the right-back has been one of Tottenham’s main attacking threats, providing eight assists in all competitions this season (transfermarkt).
Some reports previously indicated that the 27-year-old was set to be handed a new contract by the club, which he was said to be keen on signing (Le10Sport).
However, the former PSG man has also been linked with a move away from Spurs, with Sky Sports claiming that Monaco are keen to take the defender back to France.
While some Tottenham fans urged the club to move Aurier on, others insisted that selling the full-back would not make any sense:
Not his biggest fan but he’s been one of our best players this season so it’s a tough one

Keep. If you’d replace him outright your mad

Make this happen!! Do your old club a favour

Anyone with half a brain would say don't sell UNLESS we bring in another replacement. Selling Aurier then not buying a right back, I'd just keep Aurier thanks

Get it done but reinvest in QUALITY, not just cheap options

Anyone who wants to sell him isn’t thinking straight

If we sell Aurier and get in Aaron’s I’d be extremely happy. Knowing Levy, we’ll sell Aurier and hope Walker-Peters will come good.

Just a quickie. Aurier is nowhere near as bad as plenty claim. Far better than Aarons who plenty are infatuated by.

Spurs Web Opinion
I do not believe there is any chance that we will sell Aurier this summer, particularly given the trust Jose has shown in him. However, that does not mean that we cannot potentially sign an upgrade on the Ivorian. I believe Timothy Castagne could be an excellent fit for our system and push Serge for a starting spot next season.
