Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici has thanked Nuno Espirito Santo for the way in which he conducted himself in the job after the club confirmed they will be parting ways with the Portuguese coach.
Tottenham’s 3-0 loss at home against Manchester United proved to be the final nail in the coffin for Nuno, with the home crowd seemingly turning against the club on Saturday.
The former Wolves boss looked a beaten man on the touchline, with his substitutions being jeered by the Spurs faithful.
That has seemingly sparked an immediate reaction from the Tottenham hierarchy, with the club confirming this morning that they had parted ways with the 47-year-old and his coaching staff, just four months on from appointing him.
Paratici expressed his regret at having to arrive at the decision to sack Nuno, labelling him a ‘gentlemen’ and insisting that he will always be welcome back at the North London club.
The Italian told Tottenham’s official website: “I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed and I regret that we have had to take this decision.
“Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future.”

Paratici has spoken in the past about the importance of having a positive atmosphere at the club and having the fans, players, staff singing from the same hymn sheet.
That is why I suspect that the toxic atmosphere that he witnessed in the stadium on Saturday contributed significantly to his decision to call time on the project.
