Joe Hart has hailed Alisson Becker as ‘a true superstar’ after the Liverpool number one netted the winner in the Reds’ 2-1 win over West Brom on Sunday.
It looked like Liverpool were set to suffer another setback in the race for the top four as the game was level heading into stoppage time at the Hawthorns.
However, Alisson came forward after the away side won a corner late on and produced a well-directed header into the top corner to give his side all three points.
While it is always special for goalkeepers to get on the scoresheet, the feeling would have been particularly sweet for Alison, whose father passed away aged 57 back in February.
The Brazilian looked overwhelmed with emotion on netting the winner and dedicated the goal to his late father during his post-match interview.
Alisson’s interview seemed to have struck a chord with Hart, who took to social media to praise the Liverpool star.
