Brennan Johnson has labelled Son Heung-min a ‘world-class player’, opining that not many players in world football would have been able to pull off the assist that the South Korean did against Brighton.
After returning from the Asian Cup just a few days prior to Saturday’s clash, Son was left on the bench by Ange Postecoglou.
The South Korean came on as a substitute on 62 minutes to a rapturous ovation around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he once again showed his class, producing a moment of real quality in stoppage time to help the home side emerge with all three points.
After being put in a one-on-one situation on the left, the Tottenham captain wrapped his foot around the ball to provide a pin-point low cross that found Johnson, who tapped the ball into a near-empty net at the far post.
Postecoglou lavished praise on Son in his post-match press conference, opining that the 31-year-old is the best attacker in the Premier League (Hayters TV).

Johnson also waxed lyrical about his teammate, insisting that very few players could have delivered such a perfect pass with their left foot.
The Welshman told NBC Sports: “He’s a world-class player. I don’t think he needs me to tell anyone how good he is, I think he has shown it for the last 10 years playing at Tottenham.
“Everyone knows how good a player he is and I don’t think there’s many players in the world who can hit a left foot pass basically onto my foot and give me a free goal, that just shows his class.”

What Saturday showed is the value of having such top-class options on the bench, which is something Postecoglou has not had the luxury of over the last four months, owing to the injuries that Tottenham have had.
Saturday’s result will hopefully instil confidence in the squad that they can now put together a strong run of results over the next couple of months.
