Abebayor expected to stay at City

Sky Sports news understand that Emmanuel Adebayor will be staying with Manchester City.

The former Arsenal striker had been linked with a loan move to Tottenham Hotspur after finding himself mostly on the bench in City’s opening Premier League fixtures.

With Robbie Keane expected to depart White Hart Lane, many are expecting Harry Redknapp to bring in another forward before the window closes today at 6pm.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Defo think Harry and Levy have played it wrong this Summer – expecting to feed off of scraps of City and not thinking logically that they've got the money to leave them to rot rather than help a competitior.

But was also thinking that although we've not brought in a Worldy forward (Fabiano, Suarez, etc) when you look at our current 4 forwards we are in better shape than most the other top teams bar Chelsea and Utd. Torres is obviously better than all our forwards but is always injured, their back up – Kuyt, Ngog, Jovanovic and maybe Cole. Ass – RVP is better than all of ours but is always injured – their back up is Chamakh, Bendtner and Walcott, don't think that's any better than ours? City, only play one up front as standard, Tevez is class but has openly said he doesn't like playing over here, misses his family and isn't getting the service with Mancini playing all out Italian style defence, he won't be able to lead the line all season and Balotelli and Adebayor will kill each other.

We just have to think that last season our squad got us 4th and we may not have the individuals like Torres, Gerrard, Tevez, RVP etc but our squad has greater depth, and if Harry can add a Parker, Young, Pienaar or Muntari today then great, don't think we should get too down about missing out

  2. Having pissed them off after taking Ramos off them and then flogging them Zakora for 8m, did we really expect Sevilla to help us out by letting us buy their top striker. They gave us a good old runaround right up until the last minute and now we're desperate. Surprised Levy didn't see it coming.
