‘Absolute disgrace’ – Some Spurs fans blast Sky coverage of Man United match

Some Spurs fans have blasted Sky Sports for their coverage of Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Friday.

With United and Spurs both competing for Champions League qualification, the game was billed as a six-pointer in the race for the top four.

With the Lilywhites trailing the Red Devils by five points, a draw was far more beneficial for United than it was for the home side, who now have very little margin for error if they wish to seal a top-four finish.

However, it was not the team’s performance or the result that frustrated some Spurs fans when compared with Sky’s coverage of the game, which some believed was heavily Man Utd-centric.

Patrice Evra and Roy Keane were the pundits in the studio dissecting the match before kick-off, at half-time, and after the full-time whistle.

Predictably, most of the discussion was based around United, while Manchester legend Gary Neville sat in the commentary booth for the match.

Some Spurs fans threatened to cancel their Sky subscription following the lack of time they devoted to discussing Tottenham.

Spurs legend Graham Roberts was among those to take to social media to call out Sky Sports for their coverage of the game:

Spurs Web Opinion

It really is unacceptable that Sky Sports decided not to have any Spurs representation, either in punditry or in the commentary. It is not like Roy Keane and Patrice Evra offered an incisive analysis either. They were just letting their emotions get the better of them while criticizing and praising United’s stars. It was basically like watching MUTV’s coverage instead of a neutral broadcaster’s.
